Libya's switch to De La Rue for this series came after years of notes produced under arrangements tied more closely to Arab printing facilities. The 2002 redesign was part of a broader effort to bring Libyan currency up to late-1990s international security standards — the embedded thread and watermark combination here was fairly current for the period, though modest by De La Rue's capabilities at the time.

P#64 is common in circulated grades; the 162mm width makes the note prone to edge wear at the corners, and heavily used examples frequently show horizontal fold fatigue along the center crease.
