背面描述 Reverse of irregular hammered flan displaying a two-line Gujarati inscription divided by a prominent horizontal bar across the field. The upper portion features vertical strokes suggestive of stylized decorative elements, while the lower register bears the name 'Vibhaji' alongside the frozen regnal year numeral '978' (AH), referencing the issuing ruler of Nawanagar. The die work is characteristic of provincial hammered coinage of the Kathiawar region, with bold but somewhat crudely executed lettering and evident flan irregularities.

附加信息

Nawanagar's copper coinage of the mid-nineteenth century was struck under Vibhaji's predecessor and continued into his reign largely unchanged — a deliberate conservatism that reflected the state's precarious position between competing regional powers and British Paramount authority. The dhinglo denomination itself was peculiar to a handful of Kathiawar states and carried no direct equivalent in the colonial tariff schedules, which created persistent headaches for British revenue officials attempting to standardize currency across the peninsula.

KM#3 is known with significant die variation in the countermark placement.
