Vikmatji IV Khimaji ruled during a period when the Political Agent's oversight was tightening across Kathiawar, and locally-struck copper issues like this dhingla were among the last expressions of autonomous monetary authority the smaller Kathiawar states would exercise before standardization pressure intensified later in the century. The dhingla denomination itself is specific to the Kathiawar region's traditional weight-based system, distinct from the broader Gujarat monetary conventions.
