Obverse description Central field features the German Federal Eagle (Bundesadler), a stylised heraldic eagle displayed with wings spread and talons outstretched, rendered in sharp relief against a plain field. The eagle's breast bears a shield with a plain surface, consistent with the post-war Federal Republic design. Encircling the eagle along the upper periphery is the legend BUNDESREPUBLIK DEUTSCHLAND in raised Latin capitals, with the mint mark G flanked by separating dots positioned at the base of the design. A fine beaded border frames the entire obverse.
