| Obverse description | Central field features the Hungarian arms — a crowned shield divided horizontally into alternating barry stripes (representing the rivers of Hungary) and a patriarchal double cross on a mount — set within a beaded inner circle. The mint marks 'N' and 'B' flank the shield at the sides. A circular Latin legend surrounds the design, reading clockwise from the top: LEOPOLDVS · D · G · R · I · S · A · H · B · REX, representing the full royal and imperial titulature of Leopold I. The composition is characteristic of the small-module hammered coinage struck at the Nagybánya (Baia Mare) mint in the late 17th century. |
