Obverse description Crowned royal effigy facing right within a beaded inner circle, depicted as a draped bust with stylized hair rendered in short curved lines characteristic of Leonese Romanesque die-cutting. The crown is shown as a turreted or jewelled form typical of 12th-century Iberian coinage. The portrait is rendered in low relief in the crude but vigorous hammered style of the period. A partial Latin legend surrounds the figure within the outer field.
