Reverse description Central field features a boldly struck cross pattée or cross with expanded terminals, enclosed within a plain inner circle, characteristic of denaro paparino coinage of the Patrimony of Saint Peter. The cross divides the inner field into four quadrants, each plain. The surrounding Latin legend + BEATI PETRI (of Blessed Peter) runs along the outer border in capital letters, partially legible given the worn and irregular flan typical of this hammered Sede Vacante issue.
