Reverse description Central field displays a cross pattee in high relief, with pellets or small ornaments in each angle, enclosed within a plain inner circle. The cross design is typical of Hohenstaufen-era Sicilian denari and reflects the broader Norman-Swabian coinage tradition. A circular Latin legend runs around the periphery, punctuated by pellet stops, proclaiming Manfredi's royal title as King of Sicily. The flan shows characteristic irregular edges from the hammering process.
