正面描述 Within a beaded inner circle, the letter C flanked by four crescents arranged in cruciform fashion occupies the central field. A Latin circular legend reads + SECVNDVS R surrounding the central motif. The flan is irregular and the strike characteristically weak in places, as is typical of hammered billon issues of the Kingdom of Sicily.

附加信息

Corrado II — known as Conradin — was never formally crowned King of Sicily, yet coinage was struck in his name during the regency period following his father Conrad IV's death in 1254. He was four years old when these denari entered circulation. The kingdom was effectively governed by Manfred of Sicily, his illegitimate uncle, who would eventually usurp the throne outright in 1258 — the closing bracket of this issue's date range is not coincidental.

Conradin was executed in Naples in 1268, aged sixteen, ending the Hohenstaufen male line.
