| Obverse description | Central plain cross pattée enclosed within a raised inner circle, with small lozenge or diamond ornaments positioned in the second and fourth quarters of the cross. The surrounding legend runs between the inner circle and the irregular coin edge, separated by pellets. The entire design is struck in the characteristic rough hammered style of medieval Sicilian coinage, with patchy green cuprite patination visible across the field. |
