| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central design features a saltire (diagonal cross of St. Andrew) dividing the field into four quadrants: fleurs-de-lis occupy the left and right quadrants, while small trefoils appear in the upper and lower quadrants, all rendered in the punched Gothic style characteristic of Scottish hammered gold coinage. The entire device is enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The circumferential legend in uncial Gothic lettering, reading XPC : REGNAT XPC VIN, is separated by pellet stops and carries the devotional Christological invocation standard on medieval Scottish gold issues. |
