| 表面の説明 | Within a beaded inner circle, a lion rampant is depicted at centre enclosed within a double-lined lozenge (diamond-shaped frame), a characteristic device of the Scottish royal demy coinage. The field between the lozenge and the beaded circle is plain. The surrounding legend, separated by saltire stops, runs in uncial Gothic lettering along the outer margin of the flan, reading IACOBVS DEI GRACIA REX SC, identifying the issuer as James, by the Grace of God, King of Scots. The flan is irregular in outline, consistent with mid-fifteenth-century Scottish hammered gold coinage. |

| 裏面の説明 | At centre, a saltire (St. Andrew's Cross) is flanked on each side by a fleur-de-lis, the entire composition enclosed within a six-arc tressure rendered in double lines. Within each arc of the tressure sits a large quatrefoil charged with a prominent central pellet, forming an ornate decorative framework characteristic of Scottish late medieval gold coinage. The outer legend, punctuated by saltire stops and rendered in uncial Gothic lettering, reads SALVVM FAC POPVLVM TVVM, a Scriptural invocation meaning 'O Lord, save Thy people.' The flan edges are irregular, consistent with hammered production of the period. |
