| Beschrijving keerzijde | Irregular hammered silver flan displaying a highly stylized and degenerate Arabic inscription occupying the central field, derived from an abbreviated form of the Islamic shahada or mint formula. The legend, reading lillah muh (لله مح), represents a cursive and deeply degraded rendering of the Arabic script, compressed to fit the small flan of this fractional denomination. The die workmanship is characteristic of provincial Multan mint production, where local craftsmen adapted Arabic epigraphy with limited calligraphic precision. The surface is uneven with a granular texture, and the flan edges are flan-cut and irregular, consistent with hammered coinage of the Abbasid-era Emirate of Multan. |
