Obverse description Crudely struck hammered copper flan with heavily worn and corroded surface. The field bears a Gurmukhi or Persian legend in low relief, largely obscured by wear and encrustation. The irregular, roughly square planchet is characteristic of the hand-struck coinage of the Sikh Empire's Kashmir mint. Design elements are difficult to distinguish due to the coin's circulated and degraded condition.
