| Beschrijving voorzijde | Broad, irregularly shaped copper flan bearing the Islamic profession of faith (Shahada) rendered in bold, flowing Naskh-style Arabic script across the field. The legend reads 'La ilaha illa Allah, Muhammad rasul Allah' (There is no god but God, Muhammad is the messenger of God), struck in high relief characteristic of Mughal hammered coinage. The script is deeply impressed and occupies the majority of the flan, with no border or decorative elements. The surface exhibits an uneven, slightly convex profile typical of hand-struck Mughal dam coinage of the Akbar period. Green patina consistent with long-term copper oxidation is visible across the field. |
