| Obverse description | This large copper plate money (plåtmynt) bears five applied stamps: four corner stamps and one central stamp. Each corner stamp displays the royal legend CAROLUS·XII·D:G:SVE:GOT:WAN:REX· with the date 1710 encircling a crowned royal cypher, struck into the surface of the irregular square copper plate. The central stamp denotes the denomination, reading *1* DALER Sölff:Mÿf flanked by a star device, indicating one Daler Silvermynt. The plate itself is of characteristic Swedish plåtmynt form, with bevelled corners and an uneven, heavily textured field typical of hand-cast copper blanks of the early eighteenth century. |
