| 正面描述 | A fully armored knight stands facing left in high relief at center, holding a bundle of arrows in his right hand and resting his left hand upon a shield bearing the rampant lion of Holland. The figure is rendered in the bold, slightly crude style characteristic of late sixteenth-century Dutch hammered coinage. Below the knight, the date 1589 is divided on either side of the shield. The encircling Latin legend, separated by pellets, reads MO NO ORD ZEL AD VA ORD HOL, denoting this as the new money of the State of Zeeland struck on the standard of Holland. The entire design is contained within a beaded inner circle. |
