Obverse description Armored knight standing in three-quarter view facing right, wearing a plumed helmet and full plate armor, positioned behind an escutcheon bearing the rampant lion of Holland. The figure is rendered in a bold, slightly archaic style typical of Dutch hammered silver coinage of the seventeenth century. The circumferential Latin legend is separated from the central device by an inner beaded border. The shield serves as the principal heraldic focus of the obverse field.
