Reverse description The reverse features a boldly struck rampant lion passant facing left, rendered in high relief at center, with a curling tail raised over its back and a stylized mane. The lion, emblematic of the Dutch Republic, occupies the majority of the field. Encircling the central device is the Latin religious motto CONFIDENS · DNO · NON · MOVETVR, interrupted at the top by the date, here appearing as 1681, separated by a floral ornament. The legend translates as 'He who has confidence in the Lord is unwavering.' The border is defined by a toothed inner rim consistent with milled production.
