Obverse description A fully armoured knight stands facing left in the central field, wearing a plumed helmet and holding a bundle of arrows in his right hand and a spear or lance in his left; the figure rests against a shield bearing the rampant lion of Zeeland. The design is executed in bold relief characteristic of early Dutch Republic coinage. A beaded inner circle frames the central type, with the Latin circumferential legend running between the beaded border and the coin's edge.
