| 表面の説明 | Central field displays the crowned arms of Zeeland — a lion rampant emerging from waves — within an ornate shield surrounded by elaborate foliate and scroll mantling. The date 1584 is divided across the field to either side of the shield. A circumferential Latin legend reading · MONETA · NOVA · ARG · COM · ZEL · runs along the outer border, interrupted by pellet stops, referencing the County of Zeeland. The overall composition is characteristic of the Burgundian-Habsburg heraldic tradition as adapted by the Dutch provincial mints during the early years of the Republic. |
