| Obverse description | Centred on a multicoloured guilloche underprint in pale green and pink tones, the State arms of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam — a circular emblem comprising a five-pointed star above a cog wheel enclosed by rice stalks — forms the principal vignette. Denomination numeral "1" appears in intaglio within an ornate dark panel at left and within a sunburst medallion at right, with elaborate scroll and dragon-motif borders framing the entire design.
