Opmerkingen

Brazil's Tesouro Nacional issued this cruzeiro series as part of the currency transition that had begun in 1942, when the cruzeiro formally replaced the milréis. The ABNC printed the bulk of these wartime issues — Brazil's domestic printing capacity was limited, and the New York contract remained standard practice through much of the 1940s.

The "autographed" designation distinguishes this first print from later facsimile-signature versions, meaning the authorization signatures were applied by hand rather than engraved into the plate — a meaningful distinction for date-range attribution within the P#132 series.
