| Obverse description | Conjoined laureate and draped busts of William III and Mary II facing right, William in the foreground wearing a laurel wreath and armoured drape, Mary behind with flowing hair and diadem. The effigies are rendered in high relief in the Baroque manner characteristic of Roettiers' engraving style. The peripheral Latin legend reads GVLIELMVS ET MARIA DEI GRATIA, interrupted at the base by the truncation of the busts. The coin exhibits a milled border running along the full circumference of the obverse field. |
