Reverse description The quartered royal arms of James I displayed on an ornate shield with scrollwork and cartouche surround, occupying the central field. The quarters bear: England (three passant guardant lions) impaled with France (three fleurs-de-lis) in quarters one and four, Scotland (a rampant lion within a double tressure) in quarter two, and Ireland (a harp) in quarter three. A fleur-de-lis privy mark appears at the top of the legend, which is divided by dots and reads in full around the beaded border.
