| Obverse description | A crowned Tudor rose occupies the centre of the field, the petals of the outer rose alternating with those of the inner rose in characteristic late-medieval English style. Flanking the rose are the royal initials H and R (Henricus Rex) in Gothic blackletter, one to each side. Two crossed sceptres rise behind the rose, their heads visible above the crown. The surrounding legend is struck in Gothic uncial characters within a beaded inner circle. |

| Reverse description | The reverse displays the quartered royal arms of England and France within a shield surmounted by a large Tudor crown of arched form decorated with fleurs-de-lis and crosses. The first and fourth quarters bear the fleurs-de-lis of France Ancient (three fleurs arranged two and one), while the second and third quarters display the three passant guardant lions of England. The shield is flanked by the royal initials H and R in Gothic blackletter. The circumscription legend in Gothic uncial characters runs within a beaded border around the entire field. |
