| Obverse description | Left-facing crowned effigy of King George V, depicted in military dress with ermine-trimmed robes and a decorative star medallion at the collar, engraved by Percy Metcalfe in a bold, high-relief style. The King wears the Imperial State Crown, rendered in fine detail with arches, crosses, and fleurs-de-lis. The portrait is truncated at the shoulder and occupies the majority of the field, surrounded by a beaded inner border.
