| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of George III facing right, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair and laurel wreath. The effigy occupies the majority of the field, displaying the King's characteristic curled wig and classical drapery at the truncation. The circumferential legend reads GEORGIUS III DEI GRATIA REX, with the issuer's mark CHK also present. The coin's milled border frames the design with a uniform reeded edge visible around the rim. |

| Reverse description | A large ornate royal crown is depicted at center, positioned above two crossed items — a sword and a sceptre — flanked on either side by naturalistically rendered Scottish thistle plants in full bloom with detailed foliage. The date 1808 is divided across the field with '18' to the left and '08' to the right of the central devices. The circumferential legend QUAE DEUS CONIUNXIT NEMO SEPARET arcs around the upper portion of the field, while the inscription • SCOTLAND • appears along the lower rim. |
