Obverse description Laureate and draped effigy of King George III facing right, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair and a bold laurel wreath, the work of engraver Benedetto Pistrucci. The Latin legend encircles the bust from lower left to lower right, with the date prominently placed in the exergue below the truncation. The portrait conveys a classical, idealized style characteristic of Pistrucci's neoclassical approach. The milled edge borders the design on the coin's periphery.
