Reverse description Within a raised linear and beaded border on the diamond-oriented square klippe flan, the denomination and date are inscribed in four lines across the plain field, reading: · I · / GOLT / KRONE / · 1564 ·, flanked by pellet stops. The bold, slightly irregular Roman lettering is typical of mid-sixteenth-century Danish mint production, conveying the denomination (1 Gold Crown) and the year of issue with clarity and economy of design.
