Reverse description Crowned quartered shield of arms bearing the royal arms of France (azure, three fleurs-de-lis or) and Brabant (sable, a lion or) in alternating quarters, flanked on either side by the initial letter F. The date 1582 appears in the upper field beneath the crown. The surrounding Latin legend AETERNVM MEDITANS DECVS ('meditating eternal glory') runs within a beaded border around the entire design.
