| Obverse description | Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the George IV State Diadem, depicted with a draped shoulder, as modeled by Ian Rank-Broadley. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs across the upper field to the left, with ISLE OF MAN continuing to the right, and the date 2015 positioned at the lower right. Small triskelion privy marks appear flanking the legend at the upper center and near the date. The engraver's initials IRB appear truncated below the bust. The design is rendered in high relief against a deeply mirrored proof field. |

Churchill crowns are well-trodden ground in commemorative minting, but the Isle of Man Treasury has issued so many crown-format pieces over the decades that individual entries in the series carry little collective prestige. This 2015 piece marks the fiftieth anniversary of Churchill's death in January 1965 — the funeral of which drew heads of state from 112 nations and remains the largest state funeral ever held in Britain.
The .925 proof issue was struck by Pobjoy Mint, the Isle of Man's long-standing production partner for collector coinage.
