Beschrijving keerzijde Central design depicts the standing conjoined effigies of Prince William, in naval uniform and peaked cap, and Catherine, Princess of Wales, in a tailored coat and fascinator, set against an architectural background suggestive of a formal public occasion during the Summer of 2012. A decorative royal cipher appears at the base of the central design. The legend WILLIAM & CATHERINE arcs along the left and upper periphery, with SUMMER OF 2012 inscribed in a curved arc to the upper right. The denomination ONE CROWN is prominently displayed along the lower border, all within a beaded rim.

Aanvullende informatie

Tristan da Cunha — a British Overseas Territory of roughly 250 permanent residents sitting in the South Atlantic, closer to South Africa than to Britain — issues commemorative coinage through the Saint Helena treasury rather than maintaining any independent mint relationship. These pieces are legal tender on the island in theory; in practice, no meaningful retail economy exists there to circulate them.

The royal wedding commemorative program stretched across multiple issuers and years well past 2011, with the 2013–2014 date range on this piece reflecting delayed contract fulfillment rather than any distinct commemorative occasion.
