Obverse description Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, diademed and with elaborately coiffured hair, occupying the central field. The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine detail on the tiara and hair curls. The peripheral legend reads HER MAJESTY QUEEN ELIZABETH II, with the territorial abbreviation TDC and the date 2014 appearing at the lower portion of the field. A beaded inner border runs along the rim.

Reverse description Central field depicts a uniformed First World War British soldier, wearing a peaked cap and service dress, tenderly cradling the muzzle of a horse's head, set against a coloured background of the Union Flag. The central device is enclosed within an ornate laurel wreath, at the base of which a ribbon scroll bears the date range 1914-1918. The upper legend reads BACKBONE OF THE ARMY, while the lower field carries the inscriptions WAR HORSES and ONE CROWN. Artillery pieces flank the lower portion of the wreath.
