| Obverse description | The fourth-portrait effigy of Queen Elizabeth II faces right, diademed and wearing a necklace, as modelled by Ian Rank-Broadley. The truncation of the bust is clearly defined, with fine hair detail rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field. The circular legend around the periphery reads ELIZABETH II to the upper left and GIBRALTAR to the upper right, with the date 2001 positioned at the lower right. The engraver's initials IRB appear below the portrait truncation. A fine beaded border frames the entire obverse design. |
