正面铭文 ELIZABETH II GIBRALTAR 2001
背面描述 Three conjoined busts of the Brontë sisters depicted in relief at the centre of the field, individually identified by their given names: ANNE to the left, EMILY above centre, and CHARLOTTE to the right. The figures are framed below by a laurel wreath incorporating two quill pens, symbolising their literary legacy. A rectangular cartouche bearing the inscription THE BRONTE SISTERS is placed across the lower portion of the busts, with the denomination numeral 1 enclosed in a circular device below, and the word CROWN along the bottom margin. The series title THE VICTORIAN AGE arcs across the upper field.

附加信息

Gibraltar has issued commemorative crowns prolifically since the 1990s, targeting the collector market rather than circulation, and this Brontë piece fits squarely in that program. The sisters — Charlotte, Emily, and Anne — spent virtually their entire lives in Haworth, Yorkshire, publishing their landmark novels in 1847 under the male pseudonyms Currer, Ellis, and Acton Bell, partly because their publisher, Smith, Elder & Co., had returned Charlotte's earlier manuscript with a note suggesting a novel with more action might sell.

KM#969 is one of several literary-themed issues Gibraltar produced that year.
