Reverse description A detailed naval battle scene depicting tall-masted men-of-war engaged in close-quarter combat at the Battle of Cape St. Vincent of 1797, with cannon smoke billowing across the field and multiple ships shown under full sail in a turbulent sea. The scene is framed within a circular inner border, flanked on either side by a decorative rope or chain motif. Below the central design, the inscription THE BATTLE OF CAPE ST. VINCENT·1797 appears in the exergue, accompanied by a facsimile of Nelson's signature and the date 1805. The denomination ONE CROWN is prominently inscribed along the lower border, while the legend THE BICENTENARY OF TRAFALGAR arcs across the upper field. The Pobjoy Mint mark PM appears discreetly in the lower field.
