| Aanvullende informatie |
Tristan da Cunha's 1959 royal tour never actually happened. The island was included in a broader South Atlantic itinerary that was ultimately curtailed, making the "tour" commemorated here more aspirational than historical. The island's entire population of roughly 270 was evacuated to England in 1961 following a volcanic eruption, returning two years later — a disruption that makes any pre-eruption commemorative from Tristan carry an odd footnote.
