| Obverse description | Right-facing draped effigy of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the George IV State Diadem, drop earrings, and a pearl necklace, after the portrait by Raphael Maklouf. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the left field, while GIBRALTAR and the date 1998 arc along the right field. The mint mark PM appears in small characters beneath the truncation of the bust. A fine toothed border frames the entire design. |
