| Obverse description | Right-facing crowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II after the fourth portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley, depicting the Queen wearing the George IV State Diadem and a pearl necklace. The truncation is bare and the portrait is rendered in high relief against a deeply mirrored proof field. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the left periphery, while ISLE OF MAN and the date 2000 arc along the right, all in raised Latin capitals. The coin displays fine denticulation along the rim. |

The "Victory Visit" commemorates the Queen Mother's return to London on May 8, 1945 — VE Day — when she and George VI appeared repeatedly on the Buckingham Palace balcony before crowds estimated at tens of thousands. The Isle of Man had been issuing commemorative crowns in silver proof since the 1970s, and by 2000 had built one of the more prolific such programs in the British Isles, targeting collector markets rather than circulation.
The Queen Mother turned 100 in August of that same year, and several issuers timed releases to coincide with the centenary.
