Additional information

Issued to mark the 40th anniversary of Prince Charles's investiture as Prince of Wales — an event that took place at Caernarfon Castle in July 1969, choreographed largely by the Earl of Snowdon as Constable of the Castle. The Isle of Man has long exploited its status as a Crown dependency to issue commemorative crowns outside Royal Mint scheduling, making Pobjoy Mint a frequent contractor for such pieces throughout the 1980s and 1990s.
