Gibraltar's 2021 crown issues occupy an odd corner of numismatic production — legal tender of a British Overseas Territory, struck by the Pobjoy Mint or its successors, carrying denominations that bear no relationship to their actual bullion or collector value. The "One Penny" designation on a 28-gram crown-sized piece is a fiscal fiction, a mechanism for establishing legal tender status without disrupting Gibraltar's currency relationship with the UK.
