| Obverse description | Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, with draped shoulders, as designed by Ian Rank-Broadley. | Reverse description | Three tall Viking swords, known as the Sverdsfjell (Swords in Rock) monument of Hafrsfjord, Norway, dominate the central field, their blades pointing downward and hilts surmounted by a crown and crossed Norwegian flags. Between the sword blades, two detailed architectural facades are depicted, referencing Norwegian national buildings. The inscription MAY 17TH appears in the lower central field between the swords, commemorating Norwegian Constitution Day. The legend NORWEGIAN INDEPENDENCE arcs across the upper field, flanked by the dates 1905 and 2005 along the sides, while 1 CROWN is inscribed along the lower border.
