| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central scene depicting a wounded Admiral Horatio Nelson being supported and carried by a fellow officer on the deck of a vessel, commemorating his wounding at the Battle of Santa Cruz de Tenerife in 1797. In the background, a tall-masted sailing warship is visible on the open sea, with a small rowing boat nearby. The scene is framed by a rope-style inner border, with the dual commemorative dates 1805 and 2005 flanking the word TRAFALGAR arcing across the upper field. The denomination ONE CROWN appears in raised letters along the lower exergue. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
In October 1797, during the failed British assault on Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Nelson led a night landing that went catastrophically wrong. Grapeshot shattered his right arm within minutes of reaching the mole; he was rowed back to HMS Theseus where the limb was amputated above the elbow. He never regained the use of that side. Gibraltar issued this crown as part of a broader Nelson commemorative series ahead of the Trafalgar bicentenary in 2005, a year that generated an unusual volume of Nelson-related coinage across multiple British territories.
