| Obverse description | Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, rendered in high relief after the portrait by Arnold Machin. The truncated draped bust occupies the central field against a deeply mirrored proof background. The legend 'ISLE OF MAN' arcs along the upper left periphery and 'ELIZABETH II' along the upper right, both in raised Latin characters. The date '1983' appears in the lower field beneath the bust.
