| Obverse description | Arnold Machin's celebrated second portrait of Queen Elizabeth II is presented as a right-facing diademed and draped bust occupying the central field, rendered with exceptional relief characteristic of Pobjoy Mint proof coinage. The Queen wears a delicate tiara set with ornamental finials, her hair dressed in an elegant upswept style with soft curls about the nape. The legend ISLE OF MAN arcs along the upper left periphery and ELIZABETH II along the upper right, with the date 1983 positioned below the truncation.
