The Isle of Man has issued commemorative crowns in remarkable volume since the 1970s, and by the mid-1990s the program had expanded to cover virtually every conceivable theme — Arthurian legend among them. KM#672 belongs to a series that leaned heavily on the island's claimed Celtic heritage, though the Arthurian connection to Man itself is tenuous at best, rooted more in marketing than in medieval chronicle.
Struck to one troy ounce in .999 fine gold, the piece was produced by the Pobjoy Mint under its longstanding arrangement with the Manx government.
