Aanvullende informatie

Issued to mark the centenary of George VI's birth in 1895, this crown forms part of the Falkland Islands' long-running commemorative program that has leaned heavily on British royal subjects since the islands' currency was decimated by the 1982 conflict's economic disruption. George VI's particular connection to the Falklands is thin, but his wartime role and the constitutional steadiness he projected during the abdication crisis of 1936 made him a consistent subject for Commonwealth commemoratives well into the 21st century.
