Issued to mark the 200th anniversary of Trafalgar, this coin commemorates one of the more overlooked details of that battle's aftermath: Victory, after sustaining severe damage and carrying Nelson's body, was taken under tow by HMS Neptune for the return to Gibraltar, never making port under her own sail. Gibraltar's proximity to Cape Trafalgar makes it a logical issuing authority, though the territory produced dozens of Trafalgar bicentennial pieces in 2005, and the series as a whole was aggressively marketed across multiple compositions and formats.
