Obverse description Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the George IV State Diadem, a necklace, and drop earrings, as designed by Raphael David Maklouf. The portrait is rendered in high relief against a smooth field, with fine detail in the hair and crown. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the left periphery, GIBRALTAR along the upper right, and the date 2005 descends vertically at the right. The engraver's initials RDM appear discreetly in the lower field near the truncation. A beaded border frames the entire design.

Reverse description Dynamic battle scene depicting British sailors in close combat on the deck of HMS Victory during the Battle of Trafalgar, commemorating the bicentenary of the engagement of 21 October 1805. A prominent figure in naval uniform dominates the right foreground, armed and engaged in action, while additional figures are visible in the background amid the rigging and deck planking. The scene is rendered in bold relief, conveying the urgency and chaos of the engagement. The inscription 1805 TRAFALGAR 2005 arcs across the upper field, while ONE CROWN appears in raised letters along the lower exergue, separated by a rope-style decorative border. A beaded outer border frames the composition.
